What is an MX record and why do I need one?

 MX records or Mail Exchange records are settings contained in your domain names DNS record, they point email traffic to the correct server, in this case they'll direct your email2sms email messages to our Email2SMS servers which will then transform them into SMS messages and send them to the recipients Mobile.

If you are planning to use your own domain name with your Email2SMS service you will need to set up the email routing using the MX records listed below;

Please add the two following subdomain MX records to yourdomain.com’s DNS Records.

sms.yourdomain.com IN MX 5 mx1.email2sms.modicagroup.com.
sms.yourdomain.com IN MX 10  mx2.email2sms.modicagroup.com.

If you need someone else to make the changes for you you can copy the message below replacing each ‘ourdomain.com’ with your preferred domain name and then email it to your tech team or Domain host;

“Hi,

We are setting up Email2SMS with Modica Group Ltd, we want to be able to send emails to email addresses like +6427123456 sms.ourdomain.com and Modica will deliver them as SMS messages to the mobile number at the start of that email address.

We need your help to make this possible!

Please add the two following subdomain MX records to ourdomain.com’s DNS Records.

sms.ourdomain.com IN MX 5  mx1.email2sms.modicagroup.com.
sms.ourdomain.com IN MX 10  mx2.email2sms.modicagroup.com.

Thanks in advance!”
